AI pressure shows up as raw speed for me.

A few minutes ago, I let ChatGPT blaze through my LinkedIn prompt stack. Seconds later I had a draft, but my first thought was, “This feels rushed.” I immediately reran each step one by one to regain nuance. AI moves me fast, but it still can’t sense when the message is off.

I know exactly what you mean! That’s where I strongly believe expertise will continue to have strong value. In the same way that an expert curator can tell copies from true artifacts, an expert content creator will be able to tell full from innovative, and if AI knowledgeable, will work with the AI to get that innovative content. It just come with practice and practice I think.

This is a wonderful read, Joel! I really resonate with your messages, especially the part about building trust and developing the patience to grow alongside AI.

Funny enough, that’s how we’ve been learning all along.

I can still hear my mom: "So if all your friends suddenly decided to jump off a bridge, would you go too?"

Funny enough, one summer I went bridge-jumping with my friends and thought, "Wow, I'm literally about to jump off a bridge with my friends.".

HOWEVER, this wasn't a split decision to fit-in or keep up with the crowd. We really did our homework🤓. We checked the tide depth and measured roughly 8 feet from the bridge to the water.

There's a huge difference between panic and preparation.

On AI adoption, the biggest part for me is how there's no "objective" measure of adoption.

"How well are you actually using AI?"

It's the wild wild west with the onus of doing as much as you can and more.

That creates a lot of pressure on the individual + on the org to know if they are actually doing a good job or not.

That’s so true! That’s where I think each one of us needs to define how we measure success rather than chase how everyone else defines it. How have you succeeded with this, Majd?

I have not and I'm stressed out about AI.

This is really cool Joel. I really like the principle "voice over volume", especially given how confidently AI chatbots hallucinate fluff and useless stuff! Thanks for putting this together.

Thank you, Chintan! How do you maintain this balance as you use AI?

I would love to say otherwise, but I have learned only by suffering with its suggestions and treating them as accurate analysis about me or a situation 😅
